Black Glutinous Rice Sweet Soup with Floral Glutinous Rice

Pulut Hitam is a dessert made out of Floral Black Glutinous Rice and coconut milk, sweetened with palm sugar and rock sugar. Taste rich and creamy in flavour!

  • 4 tbsp Floral Black Glutinous Rice
  • 2 pc Pandan leaves
  • Drinking Water
  • 70g Rock sugar
  • 30g Palm sugar (gula melaka)
  • 1/2 tbsp Corn flour
  • Coconut Milk (when served)
  • Mango (when served)
  1. Soak Black Glutinous Rice for 5 hours. Boil 800ml water with Black Glutinous Rice, pandan leaves at high heat. Once it boils, reduce heat and simmer for 30 mins. Rice should look puffy and soft by then.
  2. Add rock sugar and palm sugar and stir well. Mix corn flour with 15ml water to add into the pot to thicken the dessert.
  3. Serve warm or chilled with a drizzle of coconut milk and mango.
